Zhung Kwei

Statuette of Zhung Kwei, seated with fan in left hand, bat on right knee; 3.75″ x 4: Zhong-Kui (known as Ghost buster in China); his picture is hung in houses and other buildings to scare away evil spirits and demons. He appears with a black face and messy beard and holding a sword. Occasionally a bat appears in his surroundings to symbolise offering wealth in return.
