Here you’ll find answers to the questions most often asked by our customers:
Q: There are so many kinds of paper in your list – which one should I be using?
A: If you are unsure of which paper to use, please contact me (phone or e-mail) and we can discuss this – a lot depends on the type of work you want to do.
Q: How can I find a teacher of calligraphy or Chinese painting in my neighbourhood?
A: The Chinese Brush Painters’ Society (www.cbps.co.uk) has a list of local teachers of Chinese painting in most parts of the UK.
Q: What is feng shui, and how does it work?
A: Feng Shui literally means ‘wind and water’, and implies choosing a home and surroundings which offer harmony and protection. A perfect Feng Shui is difficult to achieve, and requires the advice of a respected master.
Q: Can I order a seal to sign my pictures?
A: Yes, you can order a personal seal from us – for more details, please contact us to discuss your needs.
Q: Is Chinese chess the same as ordinary chess – and if not, does the set include instructions?
A: NO! It’s far closer to the original Indian game, and there are significant differences in board layout and names of pieces (no queen, for a start). We offer a basic instruction leaflet with the set we sell, but do ask your local chess club in case there is someone there who plays.
Q: What is Go, and is it very hard to play?
A: Please see www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_(game).
Q: Where can I get a website as cool as your new shop?
A: From BrightMinded Ltd.
