Resin Sakyamuni on lotus; 11.5″ tall. Originally called Siddartha (also known as Gautama) he is believed to have been born c.624 BC in northern India. He renounced the vanities of a world which he regarded as basically cruel and wicked to devote himself to the way of life now called Buddhism, defined as correctness in one’s views, feelings, words, behaviour, obedience, meditations, etc. He is usually depicted enthroned on a lotus, fingers raised in blessing and a swastika symbolizing resignation of spirit over his heart
